Enter comdivision. comdivision is an IT solution company that is at the forefront of offering consulting, training, and troubleshooting primarily around VMware and AWS cloud technologies to help clients modernize their IT systems. “From the bottom infrastructure layer, through the enterprise application layer up into the end-user computing layer, we deliver everything needed to build a future-ready IT platform,” explains Yves Sandfort, CEO and Partner of comdivision.
Often companies find it challenging to embrace cloud-first and data center approaches as they are unsure of what they specifically want to achieve with the technology. To solve this issue, comdivison identifies clients’ business and technical requirements to build a long-term IT strategy that ensures quick value and returns. For example, one of comdivision’s clients, a large furniture retailer in Germany, wanted to migrate to the cloud. While the client wanted to move their central cash registers to the cloud, they decided to keep email services on-premise. However, this meant that during an internet outage, the client would not be able to conduct business, and therefore it was imperative that such core systems should remain on-premise. In contrast, email services could be safely moved to the cloud since any disruption would not significantly impede daily business activities. comdivision identified the services that needed to be moved to the cloud and others that would be better off remaining on-premise. Consequently, the client’s demands were met, and the project was completed successfully within budget and on time.
comdivision places great emphasis on enabling clients to focus on their core competencies and achieve business goals rather than being burdened with maintaining IT efficiency. Typically, comdivision performs an assessment to determine business requirements rather than focusing on individual or point solutions.
This is followed by the development of logical architecture, which involves identifying potential vendors and solutions for network storage, virtualization, and app design, among other areas. The final phase is deployment or implementation of the solutions with a high percentage of knowledge transfer so that clients can become self-sufficient when it comes to modifying or scaling up their IT solutions in the future.

Citing a real-life case, Sandfort mentions how a bank primarily involved in the housing and lending sector wanted to move their on-premise systems to the cloud. comdivision began the migration by helping the client discard parts of their disaster recovery data center. As maintaining the data center was costing tens of thousands of dollars every month, comdivision designed a cloud strategy that involved moving backups from legacy storage systems to AWS S3 buckets. comdivison also transitioned one of the data centers into VMware and AWS infrastructure so as to eliminate hardware and software maintenance costs. This allowed the client to focus on running their banking platform and provide better customer services rather than be concerned with IT challenges.
Owing to a team of certified experts with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, comdivision has managed to remain ahead of the market competition. In addition, the company was the first to hold all 5 Master Service Competencies from VMware in EMEA, being the first to establish a partner driven VMware Cloud on AWS implementation in the DACH territory and the highest per head certification level. Moving forward, comdivision intends to focus on providing managed IT services and expanding into newer markets such as APAC. Delivering exceptional service with a team of experts, comdivision is the perfect partner for clients looking to map their IT strategy, manage internal and external projects, educate staff, and provide support for troubleshooting and operations.
